Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
These terms cover your use of Backup Line ("I", "me"), an AI phone-answering service for tradespeople in Brisbane. By booking a trial or using the service, you agree to the terms below.
1. The service
When you sign up, calls you don't answer are forwarded to Backup Line. It answers on your behalf, in your business name, captures the caller's name, number, suburb and job, and sends the details to you by text and email.
2. Free trial
New customers get a three-week free trial with no charge and no obligation. If you decide not to continue, tell me before the trial ends and I'll switch it off and forward your number back at no cost. If you don't cancel, the paid service begins as described below.
3. Fees and billing
After the trial, there's a one-off $750 setup fee and the service runs at $250 a month, billed month to month. There's no lock-in contract. You can cancel at any time by contacting me, with no cancellation fee.
4. Suburb exclusivity
I take on one plumber per suburb. While your subscription is active, I won't set up Backup Line for a competing plumber in the same suburb.
5. Your responsibilities
You're responsible for keeping your call-forwarding setup correct and for the accuracy of the trade, area and hours information you give me. Backup Line answers based on what you've told me, so it's on you to check the details on each lead before acting on it.
6. No guarantee of results
Backup Line is built to capture calls you'd otherwise miss, but I can't guarantee a specific number of leads, a specific return, or that every conversation will go exactly as expected. The AI is monitored and improved, but it isn't infallible.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, my liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the fees you've paid in the three months before the claim. I'm not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits from a missed or mishandled call.
8. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the new terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
